Abstract. The results of numerical simulation of complex flows of aspiration in the metallurgical industrial workshop presented. The possibility of creating conditions for the development of Kelvin – Helmholtz instability demonstrated. Instability leads to the unsteady flow regime of air at a significantly nonlinearstage.

Key words: numerical simulation, hydrodynamics, aspiration system, heat transfer, instabilities.
